Skilling scheme’s new avatar set to focus on women

According to a senior government official who spoke to ET, the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 has been submitted to the Union cabinet for approval. In addition to specialised training programmes for women in non-traditional sectors and reskilling and upskilling initiatives for women who lost their employment due to Covid-19 and tribals, the government is poised to launch a new iteration of its signature skilling programme next month. The pandemic has altered the structure of the business across sectors, therefore PMKVY 4.0 will be an upgraded version of the prior programmes. Read more
