Following a hiring spree during the previous year, India Inc. is giving workers upskilling top priority in light of the difficult global economic environment. According to a Mint survey involving more than 750 HR executives, skill-based hiring is popular since employers are now evaluating candidates based on their expertise rather than their qualifications. The second most common justification for choosing a new set of skills was personal development, according to 33% of respondents. On the other side, businesses asserted that, in light of high inflation and a decline in the world economy, upskilling current employees is more advantageous than hiring new ones. Read more
